1Good luck getting warranty service from JBL
By ravl13
So, I set up the speakers and everything, and for the first week everything worked fine. Then the subwoofer broke, refusing to power on. Called up JBL customer service, which is an Indian call center, and asked for an address where I could get the subwoofer fixed under warranty. They gave me a company name and address. I looked them up afterwards, they're not there anymore or out of business.I call customer service again. I get two more shops/addresses, which are both 45 minutes away from me. Both of them say they don't service JBL products anymore when I call them. I asked one of them "Why does nobody take JBL warranty work?""They don't pay us. They owe me a lot of money, but have never paid for my work, so I stopped". Furthermore, both of the shops said they had stopped doing JBL work for over a year. That's some up-to-date data JBL keeps.JBL is too cheap to pay for repairs to their defective products, and as the customer, you will suffer when your product breaks under the warranty time. I called up JBL support again, saying "Look, there's no service centers within reasonable distance to me. Can I just take it to a shop and send you the bill for a refund?" The reply was no, and it was pointed out that since it was less than 30 days of purchase, I could send it back to Amazon for a replacement, which is what I wound up doing (Thanks, Amazon!). Before hanging up though, I asked "But what happens if the speakers break in the future? Can I get it repaired somewhere and get refunded the cost then?" The response was just "There will be a service center in your area in the future." Yeah, right. Why do I have zero confidence that they will try and get a service center in the area? The guy didn't even ask what "service centers" I had called and wasn't able to get service for, and when I even told him that he should tell HQ to update their database that these 3 shops don't work for JBL anymore, he was clearly disinterested and didn't record the names/addresses I was giving him.Buy at your own risk from JBL. They're not getting any future business from me. They don't know the meaning of the phrase "product support".

5Good speaker system at affordable price
By David N.
I purchased the JBL CS6100BG Home Theater Speaker System for my bedroom. Overall, I've been really impressed with the quality of sound. The subwoofer packs a powerful punch. Installing the wall brackets for the rear channel speakers was really simple. It took me about 15 minutes. This system comes with fixed and adjustable brackets for the rear channel speakers. I used the adjustable brackets. It also comes with a wall bracket for the center channel speaker. One thing the product description doesn't say is that this system does include speaker wire for all 5 speakers and a 15' subwoofer cable. The speaker wire is black #18 gauge with polarity coding. The only negative thing about this system, which really isn't that big of a deal, is that it doesn't include wood screws needed to mount the speaker brackets. I highly recommend this system for a bedroom or a small to medium sized living/family room. For a large room, I would go with bigger speakers.

5Great sound, great value
By Kelly
A few weeks back, I decided it was time to replace my 12 year old Sony TV and 17 year old "stereo" system with its two cheap speakers.End result, after lots of research, was the purchase of the following, all from Amazon.- Samsung LN40A650 LCD TV- Onkyo TX-SR606- JBL CS6100 6-Piece Home Cinema Speaker Package- Logitech Harmony 550 Universal RemoteAlso connected are;- Scientific Atlanta cable set top box from Time Warner- Sony SLV-D300P DVD/VCR which is 2-3 years old- Nintendo Game CubeInstallation was in a 20'x30' room.My goals were to have a high quality TV with decent sound, and keep the entire cost under $2500 if at all possible. Goal achieved, even with the purchase of the incidentals; some speaker wire, banana clips for speaker cables, an optical digital audio, cable, etc.- Speakers... even if you go to all of the places you can visit to hear speakers, you have no idea how they will actually sound in your own environment. And, speakers are an object thing. My concerns here were that the only review I could find on the audiophile web sites was for the smaller CS480 speakers. the CD480s have a single woofer and tweeter in satellites vs. the dual woofers in the CS6100 package. The reviews of the CD480s indicated that they were a bit bright, a bit lacking in mid-range under some conditions. I don't find that to be the case with the CS6100s, maybe because of the dual woofers. Having all the mounting hardware in the box is a real plus, and they give you two choices of mounts, fixed and swivel. Enough high quality speaker wire in the box for a medium sized room. Sub-woofer speaker cable included. A nice, classy look as well..The opening sequence from Top Gun (with the windows closed and the wife gone)was the first test. No disappointment here. Next, a bit of Opera. Again, they performned well. Country and classical music, movies with dialogue... these do a very nice job and compare VERY well with speakers which cost twice as much.A definite "I'd buy again".

4Spydercos are great knives, but the knife in the picture isn't the one I was sent
By J Mott
I didn't give this knife 5 stars, even though I think it is a very nice knife and I like it, I do not think however it is robust enough to be a true folder for use in the field by "Military" personnel. This knife pictured is not the Spyderco Military model I received. The picture shows one with an almost complete serration, and the one I received only has a partial serrated area, a little less than 1/2 the length of the cutting edge. I however like Spyderco knives (though admittably I'm experienced with their less expensive models) and am unsure whether I will send this one back for a refund and look for the model I want elsewhere or keep it, as the price from Amazon ($120.99) plus free shipping is the best I have found on any model Spyderco Military. That being said, let us discuss the knife. I usually carry an Emerson CQC-11, so the Spyderco Military is not a large knife for me to carry as an EDC or in the field. It is flat, light-weight, and slips easily into your pocket. The blade is amply large for self-defense, or any other number of chores a pocket knife can and will be put to in the field. I would caution against prying much with the tip (even with the S30V steel), as the blade thins considerably towards the end/point and might not hold up to the abuse/use of more high-end folders sometimes commonly used by troops in the field (one of which I have been numerous times). That being said, if you need to pry with something, use a screw driver and only use your folder in an emergency. Lock up of the knife is tight, it opens easily, and the ergonomics are good in the hand. The blade is not 100% centered when closed, but not touching the inside of the knife and is perfectly servicable. All in all, it appears to be a good basic folder that I would take overseas with me if deployed again, but if I had to choose a knife for deployment, I would choose a more robust folding knife (if I wasn't on a budget) for true "military"/field use. I would however not hesitate to throw this one in my rucksack as a back-up folder in the event I lose or break my primary knife. I do think this knife is more than ample for civilian carry and self-defense in a normal environment, where equipment is not used and abused as in the field in the military, and where a replacement can be easily found if broken. I hope this helps anyone thinking of buying one of these knives for true field/"military" use.

4Giant American Made Folding Steak Knife!
By Brian
This is a large knife! A big, thin 4 inch blade in a lightweight handle. The handle is very large. It takes up alot of space in the pocket, but it is thin and light in the pocket, so it carries a bit smaller than it actually is. The blade is full flat ground, meaning its narrow and flat on both sides, with serrations about 1/3rd of its length, kinda like a big steak knife. I know its called "Military", and some military folks likely use it to good effect, but the blade really does remind me of a big steak knife a bit with its thin flat ground blade and large lightweight handle. It does not have full metal liners, it is only partially lined, which contributes to the lightness - but would also lend to some weakness compared to heavier duty knives like Emerson. If you are looking for a knife to open paintcans, or bust out autoglas, this just isn't it. But if you are looking for one of the larger, lighter big knives available, that would cut your steak with the best of them, then this might be it!

5The perfect grip
By Elliott VFP
I lost my first Military early in the summer and have since acquired at least six other folders, mostly Benchmade, in an effort to take the Military's place as my EDC. Most of the knives were more expensive, some have better blade steel (though I love the S30V,) and they've all found a place in some aspect of my day to day work; however, nothing was ever able to serve as a complete replacement for my Spyderco, because no other knife has ever felt so comfortable in my hands.I know many find the handle of this knife excessively large, but to me its perfect. The size, contour, and nicely textured G10 provide me with absolute certainty that I can perform just about any task necessary and never concern myself with what I consider most important in any knife, which is the feeling of complete control. I finally caved and bought another Military just recently and don't regret it. If only I hadn't missed out on the sprint run with CPM-M4 blade steel, I would have, in my opinion, the perfect EDC knife. Keep in mind it is a bit large, but feels just fine even in my tighter jeans, and the weight you're comfortable with is just going to be a matter of personal preference.Looking for a bit more of a workhorse with similar traits I pre-ordered a Benchmade 805 with M390 blade steel, but I have a feeling I'll always have my Military clipped to one pocket or another all day, as it has been since my replacement arrived last month.
