High quality starter speaker or surround speaker
By Ted
Didnt see any reviews for these so...Extremely nice speaker for the price. All I can say is look for the sale at F..y's. $100 plus delivery for 2. I used these as my surround back speakers on a 7.1 system. I've also used them as my speaker B select for nighttime use. I have tested them as full ranged speakers at max volume and was amazed they sounded very good. If this is Polk's cheapest floor speaker, I may try one of the other one's. The next model up with two woofers has been on sale for just $20 extra. That's even a better deal! All I wanted was a back speaker and I got much more. Forget a cheap bookshelf speaker, get these. Surprising base as well.

Yes, great sound can be had at a bargain price
By William Archbold
Most people who are looking into these are asking themselves, can they really sound that good when they can be had for such a great price. The answer is YES! Really, these speakers really are amazing with movies in 5.1 (along with the CSR center channel and R150s for rear plus an Athena sub for my setup). I have heard lots of speakers, Energy, Harman Kardon, JBL, Athena, B&W, among others, and really, these speakers are excellent when watching movies.I turn these up when I have a family B-day party and the family is over, and they all come away impressed. You can let someone con you out of your money and spend more, but really, the value to performance of these speakers is incredibly hard to beat.

Solid Speakers for the Dough
By Flack
I was looking for decent, inexpensive speakers for a system in my bedroom. For what I had to spend, I didn't think I'd find much. I saw these at Frys for just $98 per pair. Very good sound quality. I compared them to speakers that were up to 3X more expensive in Frys listening room (including a couple of Polk Audio's own models), and found their range to be equal or better (I listen to new wave rock, classic rock and jazz). I was so impressed that I ended up using them with my main stereo, replacing an old Bose AM5 system. I've read a number of reviews that complain about their weak low-end/bass output. My previous Bose system had a subwoofer, so I'm pretty demanding about bass. These speakers feature a bass port in the rear, which enhances lows. I found that positioning them in corners helps to magnify the bass output dramatically - without creating mud or distortion. Are there better speakers out there? Of course. But for the money, you can't go wrong with these.
