4This JVC DVD Receiver Rocks
By Alan Matsunaga
I have had this JVC KD-AVX11 for about 1-1/2 years. It rocks. I picked up the backup camera accessory kit. Let me start by saying, the screen is short from being too small, it is large enough to see all the details in movies and music videos. The bluetooth phone works great and its microphone is very good. The backup camera is cystal clear. I had one of those wireless ones before, this one blows them away. Even at night it is bright and clear. The Ipod connector is okay. The only problem with it is that you can't see more than one song at a time on the dispay. But what is amazing is the usb port. Connect a 20 gig usb drive with as many songs as you want and it will show up on the display in groups of 6-8 songs. Easly to scroll and pick songs. The only disadavantage is that if you have too much songs (more than 10 gigs)then it will take about 20 seconds to read the drive. Also, videos can be watched from your usb drive too. You will have to have a separate usb drive for video (cant read multiple media - music is dominant media). Hope this review help you.

5Like new condition!
By emnm77
The item came very fast and although it was advertised as "very good" condition, it came in the original box with every part in almost untouched condition. I bought this as a replacement for one that was stolen and I am very happy with it as it works great and was a great price.

5Very Well Done Diorama
By James N Simpson
This diorama, from The Chamber of Secrets, I think the first sequel to the original movie is very well done. Now I'm no huge Potter fan, I'll say that up front so I can't 100% say the car looks like it did in the film but from what I can remember, and from what you can see in the two movie scenes on the back of the box, it's a pretty close to exact replica. Feel free to comment on this review if you are a fan of the series to let people know how close it is.Importantly and a huge advantage this has over Johnny Lightning and other company diecast vehicle dioramas is that Corgi made this so you can take it out the packet without destroying the packaging. This is very important if you plan on reselling it one day or just want to put it away so the actual vehicle and figures won't get dust on them. There is no sticky tape used on the packaging so it's simply a matter of opening an end of the box and sliding out the diorama. Ron and Harry are each held down by a loop of sticky tape going through a slit in the cardboard and the Ford is tied down by metal twist things. So you could take them out and again still have the cardboard base if you wanted to display it or resell it in that later. All are also secured very well and you can tip this thing upside down with no chance of the pieces moving or falling out if you intend to keep in its original diorama.I've uploaded a few photographs of it outside of the box (and in it) so check them out. The car is made of metal and the figures plastic, (they are the same as figures you buy for train set displays and pretty much the same size to. They do have very good detail in the faces (but 100% not exactly like the actors) and wrinkles on clothes and stuff. This would actually fit quite well with a train set display on the end of an unused track where you could have a train bearing down on the car and turn the corner at the last minute or something. Which is probably why Corgi did this as slightly larger than the standard 1/64 sized car usually used. A lot of people just collect 1/64 but this really isn't much more than twice the size of those vehicles. There is no actual scale printed on the box or product so I can't give an exact one but say you have a normal sized train track the space between the front and back wheels is just slightly wider than the track would be. None of the doors, bonnet (hood) or boot (trunk) on the vehicle open. The back of the packaging as I mentioned has a two scenes from the movie involving Mr Weasley's Ford Anglia plus pictures of the car and figures not in the diorama setting. It has the Harry Potter logo (which also appears on the front and sides of the box as well. There is also a little speal "When access to Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross station is mysteriously blocked, Harry Potter and his best friend Ron Weasley decide to borrow Mr Weasley's enchanted Muggle car to fly to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry" which appears in English and four other languages as well. The diorama does also display well inside the box which also has Hogwarts School in the top section where it would hang in the shop. The diorama itself which can be viewed inside the box or taken out has the Ford with the back wheels on the train track the Hogwarts Express train about to destroy it. I'm not sure if there was an actual scene of this with the two boys outside of the car but it is a good diorama.A must for an Potter fans, those looking to liven up a train set display or those like myself who are collectors of movie diecast vehicles!By the way also released at the time was the train and a purple triple decker British bus from the Harry Potter movie series, although both are just the vehicles with no figures.Hope this review was of some help to you.

1Good specs, poor implementation - don't buy
By Derek S.
After a lot of research, I purchased the 905 last year. Onkyo had some production issues (strong demand) and so I waited MONTHS before one became available. On paper, the specs look very good.Ultimately, Onkyo bought-back my receiver from me because of several design flaws that firmware updates could not fix. For example, the DSPs are poorly designed such that there is a delay of 2-3 seconds when locking onto and audio stream. So every time I fast-forward through a commercial, the video plays for 2-3 seconds with no audio. Changing audio streams on Blu-Ray movies had the same delay. In addition, there is a significant audio delay that causes a mis-sync between audio and video. Again, Onkyo says a firmware update cannot fix the problem. I bypassed the Reon video processor to help with the problem, but then you lose the built-in scaling feature.Only service centers are permitted to do firmware updates. In my case, there was a 2-3 week backlog. Thankfully, one update leaked to the internet and I was able to do it myself. However, Onkyo found out about the leak and was not happy.Onkyo also makes no mention of any firmware updates on their web site. So unless a consumer calls in regarding a problem, they will never know an update is out there. They should clearly state on their product support web site an update is available and to call their service center for more information. If they can fix these and other defects in the 906 model (due mid 2008), then it would be a winner. But the 905 has so many issues that I switched receivers and now own a Denon. For more insight to the problems, check out the avsforum site where there is a large discussion on this model.

4almost exactly what I wanted
By J. Seis
The primary reasons for me choosing the TX-NR905s were:1. 4 HDMI 1.3a inputs and 2 HDMI 1.3a outputs2. video upconversion to 1080p3. usb port4. internet radio and hi-def radio built in5. ethernet port6. THX certificationIt's been great for me on all these points. I haven't noticed the time delay the others talk about. So far, the sound has been amazing perfect and right on queue with my video equipment.I haven't needed the firmware updates, but then, I JUST got it 2 weeks ago, so maybe the firmware updates are already in there. I think one of the reviewers said he got his a year ago.I only have a few, very minor, complaints:1. The first one I bought had a short in the front right speaker jack, so I had to return it. Luckily, I bought it from J&R, so this was amazingly no-hassle, even with shipping. J&R paid for shipping (both ways) and had UPS come to my house to pick it up!2. Switching between the 2 hdmi outputs requires walking up to the receiver and pushing a button - there's no button on the remote. This wouldn't be such a big deal (normally I'd only need 1 hdmi output), except that one of the hdmi outputs is used for upscaling and the other is not. So, I want my blu-ray, my Tivo, my cable-box, and my upconverting DVD player to go through the first output (no upconversion), and I want my vcr to go through the second output to upconvert. If I switch from watching TiVo or a DVD to watching a videotape, I have to walk up to the receiver and press a button, and I can't program that button into my Harmony Universal Remote.3. It weighs almost 70 lbs! So, if I do need to bring the receiver in to an Onkyo service dealer for say, a firmware upgrade, it's a major undertaking, being that it weighs almost as much as I do.4. I wish there were 2 usb ports - one in front, one in back, so I could keep my hard drive connected all the time without it looking bad, and so I could add, say, my ipod on an ad-hoc basis from the front.5. I wish it had wifi.Otherwise, though, I found the setup to be super easy (and remember, I had to do this twice since I returned one), the sound is great, the HDMI inputs work like a dream, the speaker jacks are easy to deal with, even without banana plugs, and it looks really cool.I actually highly recommend this receiver if you have the same reasons for buying it that I did.

3Not worth the money
By Jeff Hutchison
A couple of years ago I bought a Denon 3805 for $1,000 - it was perfect for my needs at the time, but it didn't have HDMI.A couple of months ago I replaced my wonderful Denon with the Onkyo 905 - for $2,000. I didn't take this purchase lightly - after much research, I decided that the dual output, HDMI 1.3a, Reon HQV, and better DACs than my Denon would be just what I needed. On paper, the Onkyo was head and shoulders above everything else (in the price range) on the market. It isn't that great. The menu system is pathetic. The dual output is 1 at a time and requires navigation through the menu system to change. The sound isn't better than the Denon it replaced. The Reon HQV is just ok - not spectacular. It gets VERY hot. HDMI handshakes and other A/V to and fro takes too dang long to lock - 3 seconds is an eternity for a $2k high-tech receiver. The USB port is on the front under the drop down panel making permanent connections unattractive at best. The remote isn't bad, but you have to switch modes to control the receiver's secondary functions - even though the buttons aren't doing double duty. The A/V sync is always wrong - you fix it, and then it gets out of whack again.But...My biggest complaint is the firmware updates... This thing is hooked up to internet radio, but it can't download a @#$@$ firmware update?!?!?! Who is the "genius" that decided that only authorised service centers could handle this task? Give me a freaking break - the receiver should register itself automatically and notify the user of new firmware - with a message for what the update does - every time a new firmware update is released. As of right now, there is no official notice of firmware updates - you have to find out through people who've "leaked" this information. Weak... Super weak. So, I went from a $1k Denon with 1 little shortcoming to a $2k Onkyo with a host of problems... Now, I'm waiting for the next generation of Denon receivers to come out.

5Lights Up!
By NM Mom
This is a typical high-quality Plamobil product with an added bonus: It lights up! My son is a die-hard Playmobil fan. We bought this for him for Xmas and he loves it. It was easy to set up and goes well with his other Playmobil Pirate and Knight sets.

5Playmobile Lighthouse also Rocks!
By Ed G
Having purchased the Playmobile Lighthouse and having it shipped to grandma's house for our vacation, our son (age four and a half)was happily suprised to find it there when we arrived. After assembly, which takes about an hour or so, he was fully involved and played for hours. And who wouldn't? This is an awesome toy, it has a light that actually lights up,a real working winch with a boom arm, a trap door, a secret dungeon, and locking gates. It's tons of fun and provides endless opportunities for imaginative play.It comes with a few soldiers and all the little accessories that make it seem authentic and that playmobile is famous for. If you are leery of small parts and random pieces, throw them in a box they will not diminish how fun this toy is in any way. My son loves it and plays with it all the time, the adventures never end.

5A great target for your pirates
By Chris Carter
First of all, let me say that I only discovered Playmobil recently. Quite simply, I think that these are some of the most well made and engineered toys I have ever seen. Assembling them is pretty much my favorite part. But on to the review...If you have a lot of pirates, as we now do, then this fortress is a natural buy, as it gives your pirates something to attack and loot. As my son has discovered, it can be a tough nut to crack though. They are going to have to earn any plunder they take from here, as this is a solid set and well-defended. It comes with some Spanish-looking soldiers which fit nicely with the whole pirate theme. It is a well made piece with a lot of little parts, although once it is assembled, it is pretty much contained. My son did break off two of the railing posts at the top, but a quick call to Playmobil got some replacements mailed to me, and for free! I ordered extras for if/when it happens again, but overall, that is probably the only weak point to the set. It also includes a dock and two jail cell/treasure rooms with a trap door, and a secret compartment at the back. The lighthouse is pretty neat as well; it flickers like a flame, and goes out on its own after 5 minutes, which reduces the need for frequent battery replacement. You can also get some add-on sets which can increase your garrison size and armament, and provide a rowboat for your dock as well (specifically Playmobil #4295).My son and I are very happy with this set, and it is a perfect fit for your pirate adventures. After all, sailing the Spanish Main is pretty boring unless you have the promise of gunsmoke and pillaging on the horizon.

5Love me some MINOX
By CoyoteChuck52
MINOX is no joke...I never really heard much about MINOX until a friend of mine had a set that I got to try out. I've pretty much always used LEUPOLD, MINOX are the only bino's I have in house now...these and the 8X44 BR'sNot sure how avl. the 13X56BR are anymore. I did run into a seller who said they had them in stock but did not. So check with them first as the 13X56 have been discontinued by MINOX and replaced with the 15X56Just a little more on MINOX.. Their customer care is second to none. I sent my 8X44's in after hunting season last year for a cleaning and inspection because the right eye cup was loose. They sent out a pick up tag and not only did I get them back in a little over a week but they gave me a call and told me what was going on. I guess the right eye cup was missing a small screw and said they would just send me out a NIB set. I said that sounds good to me.

Product Description

You'll be hard-pressed to find a mid-range home theater A/V receiver that packs the TX-SR705's amplification power and audio processing capabilities. It might be comforting to look to its THX Select2 certification for confirmation, but as the THX engineers have seen, there's a lot more here than just efficient amplifier drive ability and all-round home theater performance. The TX-SR705 breaks new ground in the mid-range category by featuring not only the lossless audio codecs, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, but also the most advanced version of HDMI. And with a wealth of other class-leading features - 1080p video processing, Audyssey's MultEQ XT technology for room calibration and advanced processing devices from Texas Instruments and Cirrus Logic - nothing has been sacrificed in the making of this remarkable home theater component.

5Great Receiver, Great Price
By Woots
The reason to get this receiver over the 605 is the step up to 3 hdmi inputs and THX certification. The power consumption of this unit is more efficient then the 805 and 605. This unit was built after those 2 other models. This isn't the lonely middle child, it shines on its own. There is also a slew of issues this receiver does not exhibit that the 805 has problems with (check AVS forums for details)HDMI video looks great, 7.1 sound great! Price is great! :)

5Gotta have * 3 * HDMI 1.3 inputs
By Abhilash Nambiar
I've had this AV Receiver for 2 weeks now. It plays nicely with my Samsung LNT-4661 LCD TV, Playstation 3, Motorola DCT6412 cable DVR and PC. I have a 7.1 speaker setup (at the moment it's a jumble of brands - Polk RM8000T front, Infinity Alpha 25ES dipole/bipole surround, Acoustic Research AR303 rear surround and Infinity subwoofer).I think one of the key reasons I chose to go with the SR705 over the SR605 is the fact that it has * 3 * HDMI inputs. It keeps the cabling a little better under control when there's only a single receiver to TV HDMI cable. Also it handles the upconversion of non-HD sources very well with Faroudjia DCDi.I'd say I'd agree with the complexity of setup, but it's easier than it is on a lot of other AV Receivers. It comes with the Audyssey calibration equipment. I haven't done any fancy audiometry to evaluate the accuracy of the automatic calibration but I'm impressed as a listener. It has all the power it needs to fill the room with sound, whether it's classical music, rock or movie soundtrack. I'm happy with my decision.

3zone 2 ONLY PLAYS analog input
By Anthony Mael
I totally agree with all previous reviews but I want to add one detail that totally boggles my mind. When I setup my outdoor speakers I could not get any sound out of them and tried everything. Until I read the trouble shooting section in the manual that states: NO Sound, Zone 2? ONLY COMPONENTS CONNECTED TO ANALOG INPUTS CAN BE PLAYED IN ZONE 2" so if by chance you want to use your XM/Serius MP3 digital player in multiple zones, you cant! IPOD connected? nope that wont work either. I ended up running RCA cables into the receiver from my MP3 player (weak sauce considering what i just paid for this thing). I just upgraded from an old Yamaha that did this just fine. I am not going to return it because i am pretty much invested in the thing now. If I had to do it over again I would like to have known this up front. I am still in shock...

4Taster Tins
By Psycho Kitty
Since I was introduced to finishing salts, I've never been able to go back to plain old table salt. I highly recommend trying a sampler set of salts to see which one(s) you like before buying larger quantities, and it's also nice to have a variety of salts for different tastes and food/uses. Finishing and Gourmet salts are not just for Foodies, but for the average cook as well. It is fun to try them on different combinations of food. You don't need to worry about getting too much salt in your diet if you omit salt during cooking and add a pinch on fresh, pure, non-processed foods at the table or upon serving. Not only do finishing salts improve the flavor of so many foods, but they can add to the presentation.A salt sampler makes a great gift, but if gifting, buy the bottles instead of the tins - they would make a much more attractive gift. I got the tins because I needed small and light containers, but you wouldn't want to set them out on the table or keep them anywhere visible. As for this particular sampler and the seller: It was shipped very quickly, and the quality of salts is fine, however -- it would have been helpful had they indicated the quantity (weight) of salt for the taster tins in the description. It is indicated for every container, except the tins. (It varies: .6 oz., .9 oz., and 1 oz. depending on the density of each salt). It would also be helpful if each label was on the top of the tin instead of the bottom so you don't have to turn each one upside down to identify the one you are looking for - unless you are able to see through tin. The informational brochure that came with them would have been great - IF the type was large enough to read! I had to use a magnifier and still couldn't read some of it because of the poor quality printing in addition to the tiny size, and I have 20/20 vision.

5Sea Salts starter set - very nice
By Annette E. Wilkinson
Finishing Salt Starter Set - 6 Different Sea Salts From Around the World, Small Taster TinsThis starter set is very nice. I am really enjoying these salts as each one is quite different. The set came with pamphlet that describes each different salt and what it is good to use it for.

4Good Way to Explore
By C. Wambeam
I've been curious about finishing salts but wasn't sure which salt would be the best to use. This starter set is allowing us to really explore the differences in flavor, color, and grain size. You just need a tiny sprinkle on top of your food -- a little goes a long way (but that's the point). My only complaint is that these tins are very difficult to open, and sometimes cause a bit of a spill when they give that final pop. It would have been nice to have jars instead.

5Here's what it does.
By M. Strahan
This receiver does a great job. It replaced a 7 yr old Denon 1601 that quit working one night. It drives my 5.1 Polk system at least as good as the older Denon, which always sounded great. At this price, good sound quality is probably a given, so this review is more about the features that set this unit apart. Let's talk video first. The nice thing about the video processing is that you can hook anything up to it, and it will send the video feed to your TV through one cable. Its basically a big switch, letting you easily change between A/V sources. You just leave your TV on the input through which it is connected, and it feeds the TV whatever source you pick, and sends the audio through the speakers. I hooked up my Samsung DLPSamsung HL-S5688W 56" 1080p DLP HDTV to it via the HDMI output. I used the two HDMI inputs to connect my Samsung DVD player and my Comcast Motorola HD-DVR. I also hooked up my Samsung VCR through a composite input and RCA cables for the VCR's audio. The Onkyo basically passes anything its sent through the HDMI inputs out through the HDMI output. You don't get any upconverting if you use the HDMI inputs and are outputting via HDMI. If you feed it 1080i through the HMDI inputs, it will output 1080i. Feed it 1080p, and you get 1080p output. (I've set my DVR and DVD players to send it 1080 input.) This is not true of the component inputs. It will send those inputs out as 720p, even if you feed it 1080. Just use the HDMI inputs for your 1080 sources. If you have more than two 1080 sources, this Onkyo might not be for you, since it only has two HDMI(1080 capable) inputs. I guess you could get an HDMI switch HDMI 3 Ports Switch With Remote (or some other brand) if you needed it in the future, or just watch your third HD input (video game, maybe) at 720p, or maybe your TV has another HDMI input itself. Another oddity is that it won't send digital sound out the HDMI that you associate with the component video inputs. This is only a problem if you need the TV to produce sound. I use the 5.1 speakers for all sound, so I don't care. The video it outputs seems to be a little better looking than video straight from the source, but I'm not sure its noticably different.(A word on upconverting of video. Its just interpolation. Upconverting tries to add lines were there were not lines in the original source. Its not going to make SDTV look like HDTV. It might make it look a little better, but its in the eye of the beholder, and some sources seem to look better upconverted than others. Too me, it isn't worth much. My DVR can upconvert, as can my DVD player and even my TV. I've tried them all, and don't think any of them can improve an SDTV picture much. If you want to try this receiver's upconverting, there's a hidden menu to turn on upconverting 480 HDMI input to 720p, but it will also make it downgrade 1080 HDMI input to 720p. Holding down the aux and power buttons will activate the hidden menu. I leave it off, which is called auto mode, but have my DVR upconvert 480 to 1080 before it sends it to the Onkyo. Other things in the hidden menu are standard video settings like sharpness, contrast, etc.)I also like the remote. Its fairly small, yet controls all my equipment very well, even the Comcast/Motorola DVR. My wife has put away all the other remotes, so that's a good sign. She can operate the entire system with the included Onkyo remote. My 65 year old parents even figured out how to use the entire system, so the remote must be pretty good. It helps that the Onkyo's switching simplifies everything so much. Another feature that is nice is the front panel inputs. You can hook up your digital camera very easily that way. It even has an optical audio input on the front. The setup is pretty straight forward, especially if you have some experience setting up home theaters. If not, the manual explains things well enough, and a little Internet reading will get you all the way there, if you are like me and enjoy tinkering with the settings. The onscreen display is great. You do have to use the menu system on the front panel to tell it to output the setup menu via the HDMI, otherwise the blank screen will frustrate you. The Audessey auto-speaker calibration does a fairly decent job of configuring your system for your room, measuring distance and equalizing the volume, setting timings and equalizing sounds. I think I improved it by using the manual 5 band equalizers, though. I thought my center speaker sounded flat, so I tinkered with the equalizer and am much happier. I tried messing around with Audessey's crossover settings, but couldn't improve them any, though. Audessey also correctly set up the speaker distances. One main reason I bought this thing was the future proofing features. It has the Dolby TrueHD and the DTS-HD, so if those every come out I can use them. I can also upgrade to a 7.1 speaker system, but my living room really isn't configured to handle that many speakers. It also offers I-pod connectivity and XM and Sirrius satellite radio connectivity, should I ever want those. Some common complaints I've read are speaker popping noises and that it runs hot, and some people think that overheating causes the popping. I don't have the popping problems, and I don't think it runs too much hotter than my older Denon. I have it in a decently ventilated cabinet, though. I don't think it would do well in a closed up cabinet without any airflow. My ventilation is simply a crack at the bottom front, and at the top back. Hot air rises out the top back, pulling in cool air from the front bottom. I have about 6 inches of space between the receiver and the top of the cabinet. The receiver is a bit tall, so you should measure your space before your buy it. Make sure you can allow for this ventilation space on top of it.Lastly, I like some of the many different listening "modes". Dolby Prologic IIx is better than the old Prologic on my Denon. It improves the surround effects of non-DD or non-DTS TV shows. It has the 5-channel stereo that I liked so well in the Denon, too. The other modes seem like gimmicks, though. It does do a good job of picking the appropriate mode, but you can also tell it what to use as a default mode for each source. For example, if the TV feed is in DD or DTS, it uses DD or DTS, but if its in Prologic, you can specify to use Prologic II cinema. However, if your TV show is a concert, you can change it to Prologic II music. In summary, the Onkyo will simplify your system, allows for future expansion, is easy to use, sounds great, and costs less than anything else out there with this feature set. I recommend it.

3Great sound quality, frustating feature limitations
By Jeff Chambers
I purchased this receiver to replace a five year old Sony. The sound is amazing but there are several strange feature constraints.Strengths:-Excellent sound quality-Intuitive auto speaker setup using the included remote microphone-On-screen setup is a nice feature that's usually not included in this price range-720p up-scaling for composite and component inputs look great-HDMI output video quality is excellent - comparable to a direct connect between the TV and video sourceWeaknesses-Only two HDMI inputs-Lacks compatibility with separate HDMI switches-Can't use a digital audio source for zone 2 (no iPods, XM radio, Satellite, etc.)-Can't display on-screen status (i.e. volume) via HDMI output-There's an intermittent audio delay of 10-30 seconds between changing HDMI input selections-On-screen setup is very rudimentary (but easy to navigate)-Remote IR sensor is less sensitive than Sony receivers-Limited display information on the receiver itself (i.e. active speakers, multi color indicators, etc.)I originally planned to get around the 2-port HDMI input limitation by using a separate HDMI switch. However, audio would intermittently drop out after switching inputs. I returned this unit and upgraded to the 705 model primarily for the third HDMI port. If you only need two HDMI ports and don't plan to use the zone 2 feature, this is the best receiver for the price.

5Definitely, the best for the buck!
By Philip L. Palmer
While I have been an A/V buff for many years, I do not go off the deep end buying a myriad of equipment to play anything and everything. I carefully research every piece of gear before I buy(ad nauseam, if you listen to my girlfriend) to do what I want and have the flexibility to handle upgrades in associated components. That said, I have to admit I didn't wait for the TX-SR605 be on the market for more than a week before I purchased one. No magazine reviews, Amazon listings, online blogs, etc had reviewed one when I purchased mine the day after the receiver hit the shelves on the West Coast. This receiver should handle most A/V enthusiast's needs for the next several years. The OSD is very straight forward and the listening field calibration(mic included)works well to get you started. It could use a third HDMI input (available on the next unit up, TX-SR705, for $200 more) but with the up-conversion, it will handle component level inputs with no visible difference(IMO). I purchased the Sirius receiver add-on which integrates and plays flawlessly. I also bought the associated Onkyo iPod dock for my Nano(another homerun). This unit is not THX certified (a dubious certification these days for equipment designed homeowner use) but is available on the next models up in the range. The unit will, however, handle all the new (some as yet unreleased) Dolby audio expansion codecs. There are enough assignable inputs to handle most homeowners systems for years to come. I am quite satisfied with this unit and have no reservations. My gear rack includes:Pioneer Elite PRO-1140HD 50" plasma TVONKYO TX-SR605B ReceiverOPPO DV-981HD DVD playerXbox 360 with HD-DVDPlaystation 3 (only for the BluRay player, of course)Scientific Atlanta 8300HD cable boxHarmony 676 remote "to rule them all"

4pirates for twin 4yrs. old
By Livia Geordi
I have four year old twin boys who are in a big "pirate" phase. I've always loved Playmobil and was very excited to give them this toy for their birthday.First of all I should have remembered the playmobil motto of a thousand parts. Yes it makes the product more `realistic', but what a pain! I've kept many of the smaller pieces: the coins, the fish, the cats, from the boys since I don't want to either step on them or lose them.Of course within four hours of my finishing the assembly process, they had torn one of the sails on the bottom corner. Again no big deal and they are four years old. They love that it floats and we tested that in the bathtub right away. They love that the cannon shoots little projectiles though we lost two immediately. The pirates are neat too and they play with the ship everyday.I really like this ship and would buy it again for my boy with the above precautions about the little pieces.

5Playmobil's new pirate ship
By John B. Goode
This is Playmobil's newest and most advanced pirate ship. It's been available in Germany for a year, but we're only getting it now and just in time for the Holiday Season/Christmas!Playmobil already makes 3 pirate ships, and I think they already have reached the size limit of how big they can make a ship, so what do they do next? They make one which is different.Like all Playmobil products, this ship is beautiful, made with high quality plastic and highly detailed. It has 2 masts, a bowspit, captain's cabin, quarterdeck, hold and plenty of accessories, just like the other ships. Just take a look at the pictures. What sets this ship apart from the others is that it's a 2 in 1 ship. At first, it masquerades as a regular ship or merchant ship. But once you release the cannons, change the flag and show the pirate head it becomes a pirate ship, ready to attack! This ship also has the new cannons that shoot "safer" projectiles. The old cannons were designed to shoot small projectiles with a spring but were apparently unable to pass safety laws here so the spring was removed and we got cannons that couldn't shoot anything. If you are a Playmobil fan already, you won't need any urging from me, you'll get this ship, because you can't have too many Playmobil ships and because of the neat tricks this ship has. If you are not familiar with Playmobil, you can't do any worse than to buy this ship because Playmobil is synonymous with quality. I recommend this ship over any other comparable pirate ship. It's also on sale, the MSRP is about $[...] and they're selling this for about $[...].For those not familiar with Playmobil I woudn't recommend this ship for a child under 7 because there are many small parts. However, if your child is younger, you might want to keep the small acessories in their bags first and not rig the sails or rigging. You can play just as well without them. This ship floats and will make a great bath tub toy, even for adults! The great secret about this ship and Playmobil in general is that there are tons of add ons. You can buy additional pirates to beef up your crew or government forces to fight against them, plus forts and additional cannons, etc. This ship will grow with your child. If you have any questions about Playmobil there are several on-line guides, catalogs and forums where you can hang out with like minded people.

4PUT THIS TOGETHER BEFORE YOU GIVE IT TO CHILD!!!!
By dnc89
It took me several HOURS to put this kit together. Maybe an older child would enjoy putting it together with help, but I bought the toy for 4 and 6 year old boys. NO WAY they could wait hours to play with after seeing the box! I worked on it one hour each night for several days. I like to put toys together, so I didn't mind.

5OMG...I'm speechless....
By albinomexi
Tiny amp, INSANE amount of POWER...I have built sound systems for many people and have heard many amps. I've tried JL Audio, Kicker, Phoenix Gold, HiFonics (and their other brands, Crunch, MB QUORT, AutoTek) and lesser brands like Power Acustik and Performance Teknique. Some of the amps I've tried are high powered to the point where I questioned their ability to provide clean and loud music while maintaing a low profile and keeping cool.My car is a 98 Cadillac Catera and I had taken off the stock Bose system out of my car and replaced them with Rockford's 6.5 Components all around. The amp that powered all this was an Alpine MPR-300. Don't get me wrong, the Alpine kicks ass for being such a small and powerful amp, but the Rockford Fosgate T400-4 just blew it in every way.First of all, installing it was easier than the Alpine. Everything feels worth the price with it's overall build quality. The terminals are probably one of the best I've used (unlike the JL 500/1 allen wrench style screws that become stripped over time). You need a screw driver and done. Nice and secure!Once I;ve had everything connected, the amp just screamed...I haven't even began to tune it yet to my stereo. It was loud and distortion free. I wasn't satisfied yet how it was tuned and then I began to tune it myself with the SMD DD-1.-OMG...This even scared me how good this amp truly is. Everything sounds even nicer, distortion free, louder. This amp really brings new definition to my ears. What I really like about the amp is the ability to keep it's cool. That's really the best since I like to play my music very loud.Yes...this amp is a little pricy, but it's well worth your money and I highly recommend this amp to anyone interested into getting a good amp to start off with.-Jose MoralesYOUTUBE: Albinomexi

Pros:-Great Style and size-Blue Led matches my deck and my Gps Charger-Fits perfectly under my seat-Used perfect with 2 6.5 Polk MM fronts and 2 5.25 Polk MM rears-Enjoy not showing those phillip screws-Runs warm and never gets really hot or hotCons:-Wished there was an out for RCA'sConclusion:Running the amp is a great add on for my polks. Anyone and everybody should get these. Wished those clarion and alpine can get into the game again with amps because Fosgate is killing them. If you dont have the money for JL Audio Amps, This is the next Best Thing.
