Durable, good sounding drumset for beginning/intermediate

Percussion Plus is not a name that immediately conjures up images of professional quality music gear, however, I believe drummers would be pleasantly surprised at what they are getting out of this set for the money.In this day of mass produced instruments where one factory can make parts for 2-3 or different companies, much of the hardware and production of Percussion Plus drum sets is strikingly similar to other beginning student line drum kits out there today. The shells, tom posts, bass drum spurs, shell covering, etc. etc. are very parallel to most of the other starter drumsets.As a drummer and teacher I wasn't too excited to hear about these sets coming into the local music store. Now having seen them and having tuned a few, I feel that they're going to hold up well to the needs of beginning and intermediate drummers who are playing in school band, their parent's garage, and even getting into a few shows(cymbals excluded).I'm still not too excited about the generic looking logo on the front bass drum head or the cheapo look of the snare shell, but the major issues of decent bearing edges, shells in-the-round, decent tuning range, hardware that works, and other issues have been solid up to the time of this writing.One area I definitely feel could use some improvement is the pedals (both hi-hat and bass). They're functional and will work for a beginner, but they will be way lightweight for a drummer who progresses into jazz, and especially into advanced rock with double sixteenths etc. Some players would buy new gear like a hi-hat or double bass pedal (or a new set!) at this point in their progress, so maybe it isn't that big of a concern for someone just starting out. Also, the cymbals are lightweight and basically like playing on......well, they're not very inspiring to hit or to look at - but this is the same situation with most all student line drum kits (unless you're paying for a cymbal upgrade-Planet Z, B8, ZBT and so on).If you are looking for a solid kit with hardware that won't fall apart and drums that should last the duration of a beginning/intermediate drummer, this kit would have my approval as equivalent to the sound and durability of other entry-level drumsets in its price range.

Definitely not bad!

Ok, so I kinda figured out the wife was going to buy me a drum set for Christmas. I was not thrilled about someone who knows very little about instruments and nothing about drums, buying a kit for me. I opened the box on Christmas and this was what was inside. The name made me cringe, mostly because it wasn't Tama, Yamaha, Gretch or anything else I could think of. Now, I've never really played drums before, but I'm a semi professional bass player so I do know what drums should sound like, and I know what I want in an instrument. For the price, These things can't be beat. Cymbals need immediate replacement, no question. The hi hat stand is kinda junk. It's just really light and flimsy, but it works for now. The shells are really nice though, and sound pretty good. Way better than I was expecting. Even the throne isn't bad, and I'm a 350 pound adult male. I'll probably replace the heads, which most people would do on any drum kit they bought. I'll need to upgrade the kick pedal and hi hat stand eventually but for now, this is a decent sounding kit that I can beat on without fear. This would be fine for kids that are serious about music, but it's not kiddie stuff. I'm really happy with it.

Adequate set of drums...

The drums came withing 48 hours of placing the order on Amazon. A pair of professional musicians that we are friends with assembled these drums in a few minutes. They tell me that the drums are good. I know nothing to speak of about drums. They sound great and my son loves them.

Best type of DVD player for mobile use

Installed two DVD players with headrest monitors (also from BOSS). Best feature is the insert/eject mechanism without a drawer, which allowed mounting vertically inside the center armrest/console. Two players and two monitors are perfect for kids in the back seat. With dual channels and wiring included, they can watch separate videos or tune in to the other's player. One remote control was defective, but they interfere with each other anyway, so have to use buttons on the players. Another complication was the two players and two monitors took so much power a direct connection to the fuse panel (40 watts) was required.

Intex Saltwater Chlorine System

Love this system. Saves lots of money otherwise spent on poisonous chemicals. Things I learned the hard way. 1)For low flow: check the little plastic circle net inside the intake tube. Clean every other day or so for best results. 2) For low salt when you know there is plenty: calcium build up on the titanium plates, blueish white. Rinse with high pressure hose (use your thumb)once a week. I didnt figure that out until a few months had passed and had to soak in vinegar to get clean. But once I figured out the minimal routine maintenance needed the unit has been running great. NOTE do not hose bugs off the bottom of the whole system as the water gets into the cooling fan and soaks the circut board and lights. Very very bad.

Love our saltwater pool!

I have a 15'x 4' Intex Metal Frame pool with the 1000gph filter. We bought the Saltwater Chlorinator because I didn't want to deal with all the chemicals with a regular pool. It was overwhelming to see all the things you had to buy and I didn't want to have to overthink my pool.We have been using this for over a month and it is wonderful. I used the chart to put in the proper amount of salt, added the salt to fresh water and let it dissolve completely overnight. We got in the next day and played in the water for a bit to make sure it was well dissolved and mixed around and it was. We used Mortons Pool Salt which we found at our local home improvement store. I put in about 100lbs of salt. Ran it for the first time with no issues. Set up was easy once we read the instructions.I have had no problems with error lights or anything. One time I had the low flow light, but I checked my filter and it was really dirty, cleaned it and it was off and running again. I look forward to my 93 reading every morning. I have my pump on a timer and the chlorinator comes on in the middle of the 6 hour pump cycle I run.The only chemicals I have had to add was cyuranic acid when I first started since we live where it is HOT and SUNNY. My chlorine was disappearing within a few hours when it was 110 degrees outside. Now it stays in a safe level until the next day. I usually run it for 3 hours a day. Haven't noticed a difference in my electric bill of any consequence. I also have to add acid when my pH is off. I check the chlorine and pH every morning when I go out to skim the pool. I have yet to shock the pool, crystal clear water, so haven't seen the need.My kids love the salt water. The little one swims with her eyes open and they don't get red or irritated like they do at regular pools. I can taste the salt a bit in the water, but I don't mind. I am an ocean girl at heart and it isn't near the saltiness of the ocean.I am very happy with my purchase. I hope to get at least 2 seasons out of this, we will see how it goes as time goes by and I will update if things change from how they are now.

This is summer number three with the unit

Purchased the unit three years ago. When code "91" first appeared (Low salt, low flow problem), I checked the filter. Because the filter was clean, I added more salt. Still had code 91, so I added more salt. I refused to add anymore salt, so I checked the plates inside the unit. The plates were covered with the white calcium that is the byproduct of this saltwater system. Once the plates were cleaned, I received the error message that the salt content was too high. :( I learned that when there is a error of 91, you need to clean the plates. Using the system four hours a night, the plates needed to be cleaned once every two weeks. The longer you have it run the more often you must clean the plates.Cleaning the plates is not very easy. I have tried a spray nozzle from the garden hose, and a long plastic zip tie to push the calcium loose. They do an OK job, but it takes 10 minutes. I then purchased a power washer for jobs around the house. Well, the power washer cleans the plates in about 5-7 seconds. If you don't have a power washer, I don't know if you want to spend several hundred dollars on one just to clean this thing.As someone else did mention, check the screen at the entrance. If anything gets past your filter, it will stop here and reduce the water flow.When there is a problem, and the unit is unable to generate clorene, then it shows the error code and beeps for hours upon hours. This is good, so you know when you must take action to ensure that your pool stays clean, but when it goes off at 3AM, someone has to get out of bed, go outside, and turn it off.If/when my unit breaks, I will consider purchasing another one. I do wish the plates didn't have to be cleaned to often.

Easy on and Easy Off bags

I use these bags on my back rack for commuting daily. They're big enough to fit some of my medium sized handbags and some groceries, which works for me. I love how easy it is to put them on the bike and take them off again. My old Axiom panniers were a bit too fussy. I've been caught in a downpour with these on the bike and my stuff stayed dry. These are good bags and worth the money.

Gorgeous light, easy to install

I'm a reasonably handy, 50 yr. old woman and I installed this light myself with no problem. All the parts were there (always a plus), the instructions were good; I could have easily figured it out without the instructions, though. Multiple lengths of rod (12" each) are included so it works well with varying ceiling heights, it's gimbeled (is that a word?) so it will hang straight down from an angled ceiling and a hang chain is included if you prefer that look. They look great in my quasi-Victorian bathroom but I think they're modern enough to fit in that style, as well.

Wouldn't buy again

This comes with three 12" rods. Many other pendants come with 12", 8" and 6"rods, which allows you to adjust the height. I looked and couldn't even find an option to buy different lengths. I ordered two and one of them came with defective threads and couldn't be hung. I haven't gotten around to returning it, but Amazon is usually very good about that. The light itself--the one that is hanging--looks good.

Excellent sound, very close to the sm58 but..................

I've been using this headworn mic for over a year now and I'm very happy with it. You will need to modify your singing style some because you can't move away or closer to the mic to vary your volume, it's always right there.This mic has low output and the use of a preamp is a must in order to boost the signal to your amp or pa system. It does not require phantom power but don't buy this mic and expect to just plug it in and go. The capsule is tiny in comparison to a full size mic which is why it has a low output, nothing to do with quality, which is superb. I use an ART Tube MP Studio microphone preamp. Not only does it boost the signal/volume but also warms up your tone, it's also a bargin at $30. I would buy this mic again.

Good drum mic

I've been using the Shure mic for a month now and it has performed better than expected. As a drummer, the mic stays in place while I play, and the overall sound is good. There is plenty of cord length, and the storage box (sent with the mic), provides ample protection.

The Gold Standard for Grown-up Panniers

Before I came to Cleveland (for research) I was a bike commuter in Seattle. I'd seen Ortliebs around for years, but had resisted getting them because they were so expensive. And then eventually got tired of the lack of space, lack of durability and lack of waterproofing of other panniers. (Cleveland, by the way, has almost as much rain as Seattle, and more snow and ice to boot. And fewer serious cyclists...) When a whole set of revision comments written in water soluble ink were washed off a draft of a paper in a downpour, I had to switch over.They are exquisitely well designed - and very simple. No, they don't have extra pockets. Extra seams risk compromising waterproofing, and they are essentially dry bags with particularly well designed rack hooks. It's the little things. For instance, a week ago I was hauling kind of a ridiculous amount of old clothes to a Goodwill. An overstuffed paper shopping back nicely fills the main part of the pannier, and another can be stacked on top - but there isn't really enough strap left to close it. I spent a moment thinking that what I really wanted was a longer strap, male on one end, female on the other, to work as an extender... only to realise that the shoulder strap is exactly that. And yes, you can, in a pinch get four overstuffed larger paper grocery bags in the panniers, securely, though you won't be able to close the tops all the way afterwards. With some creative fastening, you can then get another bag crammed between them on the rack and strapped down.They are darn near bullet-proof. I've had mine for six years, I have been markedly unkind, and while there are a few faint scuffs, there is no damage at all. They are the best farmer's market bags ever - the straps go over your shoulder, and anything short of a goat will fit inside. There are a lot of baggage options out there, but for durability and versatility, I don't think these can be beat.

Waterproof, quick & easy, durable; needs external pocket

These work great! I've ridden with them in some heavy rainstorms, and everything inside was nice and cozy. I've gotten lots of compliments on the bags themselves from people who didn't realize they were bike bags, especially from guys. They're easy to install, and pull off nice and quick. They're secure once installed, too. The long strap is nice so you can carry them purse-style, otherwise the handle can be used. They expand a lot, and hold a nice load of groceries. My only gripe is I wished they included a small easy-access external pocket (waterproof isn't necessary). As a girl, I sometime wear skirts or pants without pockets (or annoying teeny tiny stupid girl pants pockets), and that leaves me no room to put my keys unless I put them in the bags. They are a little cumbersome to open and close, and it's annoying to keep my keys in there. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased!

tough and impervious to rain

You get what you pay for with cycling gear, whether you're dealing with tires, rain gear, or panniers. Ortlieb panniers are widely considered the gold standard for commuter and touring gear--expensive, yes, but totally worth it if you want to buy the good stuff and be done with it. I was convinced to purchase a pair after taking note of a similar set a friend of mine had been using continuously for ten years; they scarcely showed any wear at all. Everything about the design is carefully thought-out, from the reflective patches on the side to the rugged, foolproof mounting hardware. They keep your stuff dry and stay hooked to your rack over every bump.

Great figure , Great Pirce

Im an adult collector and have wanted to get my hands on a Saint figure for a long time . I lucked out and found this gold Saint for 40 dollars which is a steal considering how much they go for online . Saint Seiya is a jpanese animation and comic series which has run for many years and has a huge following .These figures are not meant for small children they have small parts and the parts need to be atached and detached carefully . The figure has three modes with the armor on , with the armor off and the armor on its diplsay case which forms the actual scorpion .Withought the armor on the figure is very poseable and can be in positioned in a varitey of poses . in its unarmored mode you can use a figure stand with no problem.The armored state greatly increases the weight of the figure the armor is diecast metal and not only fucntions great but looks great as well now when the armor is on since the figure becomes so heavy that if you try to do any aerial poses the stand will tip over . I mean it wont be a problem for most but I also build diorams and do tutorials . So its kinda makes me sad hahahaha. Its not a big deal Ill just have to find really sturdy posing stands .If your a serious collector or looking to break into collecting this is a great figure .

Must-have for the recycling-truck-obsessed child

Our two-year-old son is obsessed with recycling bins, garbage cans, and of course the trucks that deal with them, so this seemed a no-brainer of a toy to order him. Worked like a charm. He has loved it from the very beginning, and plays with it daily for hours.The lids do snap off the little bins many times a day in his hands, but they can be snapped back on and so far haven't broken permanently. Same goes for the components of the truck that can be pulled off. Our son can't fix these things himself, but we're able to snap them back together for him pretty easily.The truck rolls quite well and has lots of moving parts, and you can stuff the interior and the cute little bins with fake garbage/recycling of your own, so it's a lot of fun for a kid who loves this kind of thing. Great toy.

Awesome toy for your little "garbage" truck lover!

My son received this toy for his third birthday and LOVES it. The suggested age range starts at 4 years but I think that's really just because of the few small parts included (I put away the people's hats because I have an infant too). We found it to be just as suitable for my 3 year old. He views it as a "garbage" truck. It was a total hit with him. I love it too because the quality and durabililty of the product is really excellent. You won't be disappointed with this one!
