Was Skeptical, but it really works very well!

I bought this thinking any improvement is good for under $300, but I already had the square K&N drop in filter and saw no change, but I thought I'd give this a try... much to my surprise it I noticed a difference immediately at all RPMs, even startup. The install was a bit more involved than I thought it would be because you need to re-locate the ECM and TCM, I also thought the TCM would get too warm being so close to the exhaust, but after reading many reviews about it on LS1tech.com people have had no issues with heat. Anyways install aside, the performance and MPG difference was instant. It takes much less pedal to get the same performance as with the factory intake. I don't beat my car so I can't say how the improvements are with RPMs over 3,500, but for regular daily driving I've noticed its much more responsive and peppy, like I woke it up - I even feel its noticeably stronger in 4CYL mode (I also switched to Royal Purple oil the same day so I'm sure that helps a little too).As an added bonus, I see a gain in my MPG by about 3-5 average! So would I recommend this, YES, but plan about 1.5-2 hours to install, and don't worry the instructions are very good (could be better), just be careful and patient.

I bought this for my GXP grand prix. It definately makes the world of difference in acceleration especially at highway speeds.The kit was easy to install and looks awesome under the hood. IF you have a V8 Impala, Monte Carlo, or Grand Prix get this kit. You will not be disappointed.Catback Magnaflow is next :)

Have used K&N short ram on my 04 SRT-4 and thought this a good choice for My 06 Impala SS. Turned out it was much easier to install than the instructions might indicate. Overall took about 1hr 15min from hood up to hood down. Do not really notice any increase in MPG but that could be because of the wonderful noise it makes when you push the pedal down! Notice increase in midrange power and engine generally runs smoother. Be cautioned however, you may get an intermittent engine light...you may have to clean off the mass air sensor...(oil from the cone filter) or just reset your engine mgmt computer.
