I am a professional percussionist, owned a bunch of afro brazilian instruments, (from Brazil) and I have to admit I didn't have much hope with this cuica... I only ordered cause I needed a quick replacement of my main one "Gope" for a couple of shows this coming week... to my surprise this one sounds better than the "Gope" !!!! What!!??? Great quality instrument, I just hope that it's head is going to hold long time... it definitely looks like it by the finish and building quality. Highly recommend.
