Quality, hard-to-find filters

As usual, Filters-NOW is is the only place to order my filters. Filters-NOW actually builds/assembles filters. Their selection through Amazon is actually better than what they offer on their own website.The filter material is excellent and filters out everything from hair to drywall dust. These are good for about 350 hours of operation in a normal household. If you have a dusty house, or are doing remodeling, then your duration is much shorter. If you exceed the useful life of a filter, it will greatly decrease the efficiency (ie, increase your cost).The best way to do this is to check your filter every month. If you see grey discoloration larger than a few inches in the center, then it's time to replace the filter.Filters-Now replacement filters are delivered promptly, and are packed individually in sealable plastic bags. The bags are left unsealed so you can put your old filter in it and not track dust through the house.We've used these filters for 2 years and have been very pleased. The cost of the MERV13 filters are less than the cost of locally obtainable MERV11 filters, so I highly recommend this manufacturer's products, no matter which filtration level you need (MERV8, 11 or 13).

This filter is excellent. I replaced the standard MERV 8 filter in my downstairs furnace with this MERV 11 unit and noticed a difference in dust accumulation within a few days. I didn't think it would be that noticeable, since both filters are supposed to filter down to a very small particle size. This was an affordable alternative to a HEPA filter - although if you need a real HEPA filter, you'll have to pony up the bucks for one.These very thick filters are not typically found in your local or large hardware chains. Calling an HVAC company will cost you at least 50% more, plus they'll want to install them for you - for a hefty service charge, of course. It takes about 1 minute to pop off the door, slide the old filter out and into the sealable bag that the new filter came in, then slide the new one in and replace the door. Just make sure you check the airflow direction; don't trust that the old filter was put in correctly, check the airflow for yourself.The price and service were excellent. I received order confirmation, shipping, and tracking emails in a timely fashion. The product arrived on schedule and well packaged. I'll be buying my filters here from now on.
