Not perfect, but a very good knife

The build quality on this knife is exceptional. Tolerances are extremely tight which give this knife a very "solid" feel.The design of this knife is great with one exception, deploying the blade.There is no subtle way of deploying the blade quickly. The thumb-hole is awkward and takes too much time if the blade is needed quickly. The quickest way to get to the blade is to use the screwdriver to move the blade half-way out, then use a wrist flicking motion to finish the process.Features:-The frame lock works flawlessly-The pocket clip is strong and well designed-The seatbelt cutter works very well-Wire cutter works well-Haven't used the window-breaker-The wrench creates a large opening that put's fingers at risk when the blade is being closed. I'm not saying this is a dangerous knife, but I can see a smaller finger getting caught between the frame and blade if you're not careful.-"MADE IN USA" is engraved so it won't rub off-Steel sharpens well and holds an edge very well. The shape of the blade makes it easy to sharpen.-Lanyard hole is quite smallNOTE: If you're doing research on this knife there are 2 different pictures on the internet. One shows the knife with a thumb-disc and the other is without. Mine doesn't have the thumb-disc.

Top Notch

I had to write a review after seeing someone give this product a one star rating. They cannot be speaking from experience. I have carried my Delta for two years and will only replace it with another Delta. Like everything else Surefire makes, it is excellent. Brilliant ergonomics, extremely robust construction, and smart use of materials make this knife unbeatable. Balance, versatility and utter reliability are Surefire standards. The MOD Mark I is a potential alternative, and if the price is out of reach I would suggest a CRKT manual folder without the Auto-LAWKS system. Still the Surefire EW-04 Delta represents the gold-standard in folding knives.

This knife, like everything made by Surefire, is made for the professional. The price tag is steep but you truly do get what you pay for. The many features are useful in both urban and wilderness situations and the knife is up to the long haul challenge. I have found the edge holding capability to be excellent. The construction is fantastic. The knife is lightweight and fits in any pouch I put it in. I highly recommend this knife above all, especially if you only have one.
