High Quality Fish Oil

I have been taking Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega for a little over a year to improve/stabilize my mood. It is the highest quality fish oil I have found thus far and I did a tremendous amount of research on the subject. I was very concerned about contaminents like mercury and PCBs. This is one of two companies that I found with very high scores for safety and a record of rigorous 3rd party screening. I have been very impressed with the product overall and I highly recommend it. The liquid contains more DHA and EPA per dose than the pills which is why I chose it, I have tried both but it got too expensive with the pills as I take about 3-4 grams a day. The oil does have a slight fishy taste but it is definitely palatable, kind of like taking a shot of olive oil with a hint of fish. I have never had "fish burps" after consuming this product (which indicates that the oil has turned rancid). I gave it 4 stars because it is rather expensive but ultimately I feel it is worth the cost because of the quality and effectiveness.

Three years-and counting!-of good health, shiny hair, & glowing skin

I can't say enough positive things about Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Liquid fish oil. I've been taking one teaspoonful daily for a little over three years now, and to say that I've seen and felt the benefits of this stuff would be an understatement; however, I will say that this is not one of those 'quick fix' type of products that you will notice results from in a matter of days (or even weeks). In all honesty it took about 12 weeks before I started to really notice significant improvements in my overall health that, having changed nothing else whatsoever about my lifestyle habits, I knew could 100% be attributed to this oil. I take the oil at roughly the same time each and every day, when I'm just about finished w/my early afternoon meal. Even after 3 yrs, it is admittedly not a favorite part of my day! I don't now, nor have I ever, cared for the taste of this oil at all; it isn't nauseating, but I personally find its 'flavor' to be slightly unpleasant. However, I take it willingly, gladly even, because I feel really good knowing that I'm doing something so good for my body. In that way it almost feels strangely luxurious, like I'm pampering myself. My issues prior to incorporating the Ultimate Omega liquid in my daily regimen included overall lack of energy (not every single day but enough for me to consider it an 'issue'), severe PMS symptoms (life-disrupting), dry skin (speaking of my body as my facial skin actually tends toward oily/combo), flimsy fingernails prone to peeling and/or breaking, and difficulty sleeping through the night. I researched a lot about the benefits of fish oil, particularly about taking it in liquid form, and finally decided to try it. I kept a detailed log from the first day I began taking it so I could chart the improvement, if any, in my various aforementioned issues. And like I said, it took a few months for me to see a noticeable difference in how I was feeling. But when I did begin to notice, there was no doubt about it--consistently taking this oil was yielding me awesome results. My hair and skin were actually the first things to show a rather dramatic change. The texture, tone, and appearance of my complexion was just extraordinary (still is); and I mean the skin on my whole body, from head to toe. Enormous visible, physical improvement. In fact the transformation in my skin's appearance and texture as a result of taking fish oil on daily basis has been the greatest, most satisfying reward. (Which sounds superficial, yes, but fellow women out there will probably understand--there's a reason why the beauty industry is so powerful, after all...) My hair definitely strengthened and got a lot shinier; my nails have not only become super strong--they're so strong now that when I clip them there is a lot of resistance from the hardness--but the color of my natural nails became clear and bright; and most noticeable: I no longer have those unsightly little white 'specks' and lines (those of you who have them will know exactly what I'm talking about). As for my energy level, that has improved as well, although not drastically (same story w/both my horrendous PMS & trouble sleeping). So those are issues that I continue to deal with, but they are somewhat more manageable now, as opposed to being at a level of literally ruining my life. My hope is that I'll continue to see gradual improvements the longer I keep taking the oil. I used to order this by the way from a different online distributor, but I've recently found Amazon.com to offer the lowest price (that I've seen anyway). One suggestion: I strongly recommend buying the 4-ounce bottle, unless you know that others in your household will be 'helping' you to consume it. This is because the bottle, once opened, should be used entirely within 3 months, and my personal experience has been that 4 ounces lasts just about exactly 3 months--when I'm the only one taking it. (I once ordered the 8-oz bottle to save $4 or so, and by the 3.5 month mark it began to taste a little 'funky' although I still finished it, but it took me nearly half a year to do so and didn't taste optimally fresh for the duration.) Bottom line: I highly, highly recommend this product. Now that I've experienced its benefits myself, I personally believe that everybody should be taking liquid fish oil. Nordic Naturals seems to be a reputable brand with very high quality, superior grade fish oil that you can feel safe about consuming. I plan on using it for the rest of my lifetime. Please do try it, and be persistent; I can confidently assure you that you too will see and feel an improvement in your overall well being. Here's to your health!

This is the highest and most concentrated fish oil on the market, bar none. Only 1 teaspoon delivers what it would take at least 4 softgels or 1 tablespoon of inferior fish oil to provide.Yes, it is really expensive and I don't like that at all (!) but overall it provides the most bang for the buck. Also, no after-burps.In our household my husband and I take Carlson Fish oil (1 TBSN) while we give our teen daughter 1 tspn of this Ultimate Nordic oil (she has ADHD and this oil helps her a great deal). One day I tried her Ultimate Oil instead of my Carlson and I could feel a big difference.Highly recommended.
