These work great at keeping creosote build up down

These work much better than we anticipated. After using 2 sticks my husband went up to clean the chimney and was back down in a few minutes because the chimney was almost creosote free. The best thing is you can use these in a HOT fire and don't have to wait until it cools like some other products.

Using the Rutland creosote remover brings me peace of mind in knowing that my chimney's are cared for during the winter. It also removes all the creosote from inside my wood stoves. With heating oil being so expensive this season, I rely on my fires for heating and safety is key.

I moved into an old house, didn't have anyone to clean the chimney, and the kids and I needed heat. I used a Chimney Sweep Log in November, and have been using these (which I believe use the same chemicals though in smaller more affordable / self-selective doses) since, to keep the chimney clean. I checked it today, and even though we've had to burn some green wood, the chimney is clean as a whistle! I feel safe knowing these are on hand. I use them regularly to maintain a clean chimney. I know they say you should get it cleaned anyway, but honestly, I don't see the point. There's nothing to clean. I WILL get it checked, for cracks and whatnot, when the weather eases up. In the meantime, I know we're safe.
