3Only if you need your shotgun to be short.

This is probably the best after market folding stock for the Remington or Mossberg shotguns. It is much better than the plastic ATI ones I have also experimented with. The problem is- that folding stock shotguns are a pretty bad idea to begin with. The recoil of a shotgun begs a comfortable cheek weld and this doesn't do much to provide it. Installation required some thinking as there were no clear direction (undo the screw on the swivel) but once I got it on it was solid. I put 15 rounds of 00 buck through it and thought I was going to have to get dentures. I have since wrapped it with soft weather seal tape and parachute cord as added cushion and it is acceptable. If you need to have a shorter shotgun (I want one that can be turned around in a car) this is a good way to go... otherwise stick with a solid stock.

4good part, but needs some gun-smithing.

I purchased Uncle Mike's folding stock in order to take a stock International Arms 12 gauge (Remintgton 870 copy) and turn it into a home security gun. For anyone who's curious, the International Arms is a Chinese-made 870 copy that retails for $200 at Big 5 Sporting Goods. Surprisingly, it uses machined-from-billet where the Remington uses stamped steel. Bottom line, good price and good quality. All parts are otherwise interchangeable with the Remington, and Uncle Mike's folding stock went on without a problem. One small issue did surface when I tried to cock the gun with the stock folded; the pump comes in contact with the folded arm. With a little fiddling this should become a non-issue, but it is worth bringing up. Otherwise, the quality of the stock matches the gun, and it has become a much more compact--yet still legal in California--sized home defense gun. The addition of a tactical light and mount from Amazon has made this a neat little home protection gun for about $325.

4870 FS-RB foldind stock...

It is almost everything I imagined it to be on my Remington 870 12 gauge...seeing as I have this same folding stock on my Ruger 10/22...The kit needs to be completely disassembled then reassembled before installation can be completed...very sturdy, but you need to unscrew the recoil pad and move it a little bit so the metal stock doesn't hit the metal of the receiver...
