I ordered the cement mixer and it was delivered promptly. It is actually more heavy duty than we expected for the price. There was some hidden damage inside one of the internal boxes. The customer service was very quick to replace the part damaged in shipping. We hooked it up and it seems to run just fine. Excellent customer service and a very good item for home improvements. I am a licensed Electrical Contractor. I found that 60lb ready-mix is easier to pour bags of Ready-Mix into the Drum. Pouring cement is very easy.The Drum is held to the motor by a single "T-Bolt, Washer, and Lock washer". Hand tightening of the "T- Bolt" is not sufficient. I found it convenient to use a "T-Bar"; normally used to turn off in-ground Water Main Valves. I don't have to reach into the Drum to tighten or loosen the "T-Bolt" and I better torque it so that it does not loosen while mixing.I reversed the Bolts and Nuts holding the tins so that it will be easier to remove the Drum Tins later with a socket wrench. Also this installation will prevent wearing to the nuts. Mike

5 CU FT Mixer gets the job done

Assembly instructions were a bit lacking, but assembly was straight forward. Sturdy unit. The barrel can be detached easily for cleaning. First job with it, I made a footing using 23 bags of ready-mix cement, mixing 2 bags at a time, and going from stop to finish. Motor and transmission got warm, but it worked flawlessly. Consistent 22 to 24 RPMs, even under load. Low center of gravity close to the wheels makes it easy to pour cement where you want it. Agitates the material completely. Great for home projects. Would not be heavy duty enough for commercial use, but for any home projects, it is more than up to the task. Compared to hand mixing, this unit earned its worth after the first 10 or 12 bags of ready mix. The shipping box has plenty of padding and mine was shipped to me in a double box, which gave it great protection. An adjustable wrench and a slotted screwdriver were the only tools needed.
