Bosch AQ4 vent kit

I have to say, why would there be so many "USED" kits available? I went to a service call where the plumber actually caused a fire by installing one of these improperly. It's not that difficult. When you are considering installing one of these, first consider the total cost of the 125 series heater and the vent cost and you are up around the cost of many other brands which are already power vented and have far more advanced features. The 125 series Bosch water heaters are little work horses but must be maintained. The fan housings in the AQ must be cleaned s they can and do load up with dust, dirt and provide habitat for nesting insects. The average homeowner is going to have a hard time installing this, even plumbers who have installed Bosch water heaters will shy away from these kits in favor of internal power vent models. This is like putting rubber tires on a covered wagon. Due diligence is worth every minute spent before mis-spending you $$$

Works better than the heater it's attached to.

Installed with a 1600H LP water heater. Installation was pretty straightforward. Inserting the cabling & water switch was pretty easy, though got stuck at one point with slightly obscure direction. Asking tech-support about it, they knew about it, and helped pretty quickly.I have attached this to the 1600H. When running hot water, the exhaust ALWAYS kicks in properly at about three seconds. I wish the heater was half as reliable. The hydro-generator on the heater has gone out several times, and we will be replacing the heater with something else, while retaining this excellent exhaust system.
