Y-Valve
The Jabsco Y-Valve is designed to provide flexibility of onboard waste management by diverting waste either into an onboard holding tank or directly overboard where legal to do so. Check local and Federal regulations to determine where direct overboard discharge of untreated waste is permitted. No overboard discharge of untreated waste is allowed within three miles of shore.
Some near shore areas and inland areas are designated as "No-Discharge Zones" where the discharge of any onboard waste, even treated waste is strictly prohibited. Many of these areas require a waste retention system that can be positively secured in an onboard retention mode. The Jabsco Y- Valve accommodates this requirement by providing the ability to add a padlock that secures the selector handle in either direction to ensure waste is directed to an onboard holding tank. The Y-Valve may also be used to direct waste from a holding tank to an onboard waste discharge pump for holding tank evacuation or, alternatively, to a waste deck plate for removal by a shoreside pump-out facility.
The Y- Valve may also be used in a bilge pumping system to select between two separate bilge pickups in different bilge compartments providing for evacuation of two separate bilge areas with only one bilge pump.

Larger than expected, but works as it should.

We purchased this to replace a different brand y valve that went bad in our sailboat. The new valve was larger than expected, so some hose rerouting was needed, but the valve works as it should.

I used this to replace a diverter valve in my boats plumbing and it is sturdy and works well. It costs a little more than a lesser valve, but well worth it. The lesser valve's handle breaks off leaving the valve useless. This valve is robust and positive in its position. I also like the locking feature. While it is designed as a Y valve for waste tanks, it also works well for water tank management. I am very happy with this valve and the company for being so efficient in their customer service. Great job!

I'd been accumulating this unit's predecessors as they were many years obsolete. Unfortunately in our latest refit, not only the one we'd had, but the spare we installed, broke, and the two OTHER units we had could not stand up to disassembly for parts.I'd been dreading this day for years, literally, as our system would not accommodate large changes, which this was, being larger in all dimensions.Fortunately, I was able to adjust the legs, a feature not found in the predecessors, and that allowed me to make it work in our installation.The quality and beef of this unit is far superior to our prior.
