Product Description
Made from 100-percent Egyptian cotton in a 400-thread-count Sateen weave, these sheets offer a smooth surface with an understated luster, and they pair well with both solid and patterned bedding. Closely woven with single-ply yarns, the fabric offers a lighter weight and flexible drape for attractive display. Pieces in Pinzon's Hemstitch collection feature hems set off with lovely stitching that creates an elegant linked chain effect. Coordinating duvet-and-sham sets, as well as extra pillowcase sets, are available to pair with these sheets, giving bedrooms a more complete, tailored look.
Available in a choice of colors and sizes, the Queen set offered here includes an 100-by-112-inch flat sheet, 60-by-80-inch fitted sheet, and two 20-by-31-inch Standard pillowcases. The flat sheet and pillowcases feature six-inch hems, and the fitted sheet has elastic all around to fit snugly on mattresses up to 18 inches deep. The set is imported. Recommend washing before first use; machine washed in cold and tumble dried on low.
Fabric Definitions
Egyptian Cotton: Egyptian cotton is used to make some of the highest quality linens in the world, including sumptuously soft bath and bed linens. Egyptian cotton is grown to produce a longer staple, or fiber, than generic cotton, and the longer and finer a cotton staple is, the better able it is to be spun into finer count yarns, which in turn can be knitted or woven into soft, fine, and luxurious fabrics. The staple length in Egyptian cotton averages 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 inches, but can reach over 2-1/4 inches, which is twice the size of a generic cotton fiber. Products which highlight construction of Egyptian cotton are usually referring to the extra-long-staple cotton produced largely in the Nile River Valley. The humidity and rich soil around the Nile delta produce especially long cotton fibers, which are fine and vary from a light cream to dark tan color. Egyptian cotton is strong, durable, and if cared for properly, will be long lasting.
Sateen: Sateen fabric has a soft, satin-like finish resulting from a four-over-one thread weave. Standard weaves, like percale, use a one-over, one-under stitch. The four-over weave puts more threads nearer the surface, resulting in a softer, warmer surface. Sateen fabrics are most often made of mercerized cotton, but can be made of other fabrics, including cotton blends, polyester, and rayon. Mercerized threads give sateen fabrics a higher luster. Mercerization, named for process-creator John Mercer, involves treating threads with a cold concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. Mercerization also increases strength, dyeability, and resistance to mildew, as well as reduces lint. Sateens can be produced in light and heavy weights, and are ideal for bedding.

Soft, comfortable, beautiful, good fit
By Rhonda Langdon
I've had these sheets (white/queen) for a few months now and am very happy with them. They were soft out of the box but are getting more comfortable with each wash. I haven't noticed any pilling. They have a light sheen and the hemstitch detailing is a nice touch. If you have a thick mattress, these are the sheets for you. My mattress has a small pillowtop, and I have some extra material to tuck in around the edges of the fitted sheet, so these sheets will fit even the deepest mattress. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set for myself, and they also would make a nice housewarming or wedding gift.

Scratchy sheets? SOAK THEM!
By E. Graham
These sheets come HEAVILY starched and, therefore, are incredibly scratchy, as other reviewers have noted. Simply washing them won't get the starch out. I washed them once and almost returned them. They were awful! Then, I read the other reviews and figured that the sheets much be scratchy from the starch (how else could cotton be scratchy?). I soaked them in cold water for 2 hours with salt to set the color. Then, I added fabric softener and let them soak for another two hours. After this, the sheets were wonderful - softest sheets I've ever owned! After soaking and washing, I'd give them five stars, but I downgraded them for having to work to get the starch out.

I sleep like a baby in these
By - Kasia S.
There's nothing better than crawling into a clean, soft bed at night so I am always buying more and more sheets. If I get lazy and don't do my laundry every week at least I can change them and still be comfortable - and with the Amazon prices on high quality sheets it's easy to get some nice sets in a wide array of colors and finished. Lately I have been enjoying satin and modal sheets and flannel in winter but these are wonderful as well - the simplicity of design and the added hemstitching at pillow and flat sheet hem add a nice touch. It's tough buying sheets online since one has to imagine what they feel like and depend on reviews but it beats paying that extra hundred bucks stores charge. I am going to order these in more colors since I really enjoy them.I rarely get anything under the 300 thread count, the higher the count the smoother the fabric, the weave is tighter since there are more threads per square inch and the sheets get softer the more you wash them. This is my 3rd set of Pinzon sheets and they are always fabulous - and cheap! These are nice and crisp and so far I never had any wrinkling or issues with them. Each wash makes them little smoother and they look and feel really good. I love the colors these come in but Ivory has been a good choice for a fuss free look. These are highly recommended for anyone looking for nice, simple sheets that feel luxurious and are very comfortable.- Kasia S.
