5Made a huge, positive difference in throttle response.
By Jet Lee
First off, I had my doubts as I had previously installed a universal cone filter on my Patriot with a little modification on my part. I removed it 4 months ago, but I had the urge to try something new on the Patriot to spice her up a bit. After reading the reviews here and my previous experience with K&N I went and purchased the item. Shipping time was about average, but the item was on sale so, no big deal right? I read through the instructions and followed everything except for the part where you are supposed to attach the sensor to the tube via the grommet. I did this to make sure I did not break the part while trying to finish the rest of the install. I had enough clearance to put it on last so I decided to do just that. Well everything up to installing the sensor took about 30-45 min. but putting on the sensor took about 20-25 min. The grommet was just too tight and it would dislodge from its hole when I tried to push the sensor in. I finally decided to hold the grommet with my fingers (inside the air tube) while I pushed the sensor in from the outside. It worked but I should have worn gloves as my fingers were hurting from the previous attempts. So make sure to put the sensor into the grommet before installing the tube on the throttle body, just like the instructions states. Also use a stubby flathead to initially tighten the clamps on the rubber coupler that connects the air tube to the throttle body opening. Then you can tighten it more with a small ratchet and a swivel adapter. The difference in throttle response is significant, the engine revs to 3k a lot quicker and after that, the engine comes alive and actually pulls the heavy Patriot rather strongly, (stronger than with a stock filter anyways). It does give a louder intake sound, but with a smooth sedated roar, as opposed to the subdued trashy noise from the stock setup. I love this thing, its louder than stock, but the pitch sounds beautiful and strong. I would definitely buy this product if you have a Patriot and looking for a quick and inexpensive power boost.

5Totally Recommend
By Jeff
This is a great product that added a lot of performance to my Patriot. I notice myself purposely flooring it to hear the roar it adds to the engine. Installation was a little tricky getting the old air filter tube disconnected from the front of the engine, but once that was off, everything was smooth sailing.

4Works good

Its a good part, but K&N never really dissapoints. My only Issue was the installation. Not really K&N's fault. The throttle body on the dodge engine is all the way at the bottom making it a bit challenging to link up. If you're gonna install one I suggest a short Phillips head screwdriver and a buddy with really small hands.
