Good for our birding needs

We are using this tripod/head to hold an Alpen 788 scope for birding. It seems like a good choice - sturdy enough for the 3.5lb scope, yet light enough to carry around on long hikes. My only criticism is that the adjustment knobs aren't intuitive. It would be better if the handle for the video head did the vertical and horizontal adjustments (rather than two additional knobs).

Video never looked this good

The difference between using a tripod and without using one is known to many as critical to better video - I would add, because I have seen "Professional" (wedding) photographers taking video with photo tripods that using a specific video tripod is just as important. The fluid movement and feel to this makes video look as smooth as I have ever seen. The price for professional video tripods can go up quickly so I was happy with the performance at this price point.

This is one of the very best tripods out there for the money. I have one with a Bogen/Manfrotto Pistol grip head for binoculars and this one for a video camera. Very stable. Quick lock legs. No glare finish. I love them.
