4Work well but installation requires modification of parts
By B. Stenman
I bought a two leaf set with the SSA13 springs as I was correctly told that it was easy to remove one of the springs and use it later if the extra capacity was needed. Buying the single leaf set SSA16 would have saved only $35. The second leaf adds from 1000-1400 lbs. of support depending upon who you talk to at SuperSprings. It took less than 5 minutes to remove the outer leaf from each spring set and start with installing them on my 2011 Chevy 2500HD truck. The MX-KT kit is needed for installing the springs on late model Chevy trucks and the kit I got had 5" U-bolts instead of the standard 4" U-bolts provided with the MT-KT kit. Turned out that what was actually needed were 4-1/2" U-bolts to avoid contact with the hydraulic brake lines. After talking with the good tech support people at Supersprings I learned that they have one kit for all trucks and so the U-bolts can be too long and there are hold-downs that may not be needed from the kit and there are two plastic blocks which are also not to be used with a Chevy truck - of course it would have been nice if this information had been provided with the kit. Tech support is good and you can reach someone 7 days a week which is both great and remarkable. The shackle bolts are also 5" long and for the left front lower shackle section this is too long to not press directly against the rubber hydraulic brake line. I shortened it 1/2" along with the U-bolts from the MX-KT kit using a cutoff wheel on a right angle grinder and got around the problem. A thin cutoff wheel is great for shortening a bolt while preserving the threads.Clearances are minimal with the supersprings installed and the ABS sensor cables rub against the springs if they are not tied out of the way with cable ties.It was possible to install the springs without removing the wheels which saved some time with taking them off and putting them back on and then re-torquing the 16 wheel nuts. The springs are off when the installation was completed but I drove both rear wheels over some bad sections of road (easy to find in Monterey) and the leaf springs settled into place in short order.Tools used were a 1-1/16" socket, 1-1/8" socket, 3/4" (or 19mm) deep socket, two 1/2" wrenches, a 8" C clamp, 3" C clamp, hammer, a short pry bar, bench vise, and a right angle grinder with a 4" cutoff wheel.

5Super Springs
By Raymond Harp
I was thinking about putting air bags on my truck so I could haul a 5th wheel until I heard about these Super Springs. The Super Spring is great. Works great, priced right and took me about an hour to install. I emailed the company to make sure I got the right pair and received excellent service and of course the right set of springs.I would recommend these to anyone needing to beef up the load carrying capability of their truck.
