    4Small speakers, rich sound
    By pamcox51505
Bought these speakers to replace the original ones in our Ford Escape Hybrid. The sound is *SO* much better! You can actually hear bass and drums clearly without all the muddiness that most speakers have which are included in new vehicles. Now all we need is an amplifier to get the front end bouncin! Woo-Hoo!

5Good quality speakers with a nice tone
    By Audiophile on a Budget
I'm overall pretty happy with the sound, and I'm a tough customer to please when it comes to sound quality. I've owned other Boston Acoustic speakers in the past and I like their warm, forgiving sound. Most speakers in this range have a certain "edge" to them which initially makes them seem more attractive but in the long run can be become very annoying. Especially when you're stuck with them for a long drive, you want something that won't make your ears bleed. These speakers are not on par with my home audio in terms of treble clarity (not much is so don't count that as a negative) but the mids are very nice and I can listen to them for hours without feeling fatigued. The overall sound of the speaker is best described as a bit "warm" and a little rolled off on the highs with about as much bass as you could hope for from small-ish speakers. For the cost, this is one of the better speakers available. If you demand absolute clarity you'll need to spend more money but for sub <$200 speakers these are a great choice. The construction quality of the speakers seems very high. These speakers are actually components mounted in a 6x8" frame for mounting. Although they're advertised as 5x7" they are actually just a hair under 6x8" in size so make sure you'll be able to mount them before you buy. I had to go to some extraordinary lenghts to make them fit, although it wasn't due to their size but my previous system being a Bose.

    4Clean Sound, nice mid bass.
    By Brandon
Polk PA1100.5 powering these to the rears, Sl60's to the fronts.Clean sound that cranks, the 5" x 8" fits perfectly into my Mazdas (MS3) rear door speakers holes, would fit the same for the fronts if I wasn't using the sl60.Mid bass handles the power surprisingly well.Love them! Would defiantly recommend to anyone wanting a high quality sound., if you have the other components of your system up to par... ie: good clean HU alone, or a good HU matched w/ a clean amp.Gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star cause if you want a five star speaker, go with the Pro's, or a competition speaker.. Will cost you a lot more money.
