Product Description

Rule 800
Automatic Round 12v

Rule Automatic bilge pumps eliminate the need for a separate float switch to activate the pump. Once power is supplied, starting and stopping is completely automatic. The pump checks for water every 2 + minutes by turning on for a second and measuring load against the impeller. If water is present, the pump remains on until the water is removed. Thereafter the pump resumes its 2-1/2 minute check cycle. The automatic pumps feature two positive leads: an automatic (brown) and a manual override (brown with a white stripe).

5Outstanding Customer Service - Hope I Just Got a Lemon.
By MAC
Rule 20RS Marine 800 GPH Automatic Bilge Pump was ordered and installed to replace a dead 2 year old Attwood 750 manual pump on my 21 ft fishing boat. It was easiest to wire it to the existing console switch with just two wires; brown to switch and black to neg battery terminal. It operates in the automatic mode when the switch is on (I can hear it cycle on for a couple of seconds every couple of minutes) and does not run with the switch in off position. This way, I don't have a concern about the battery but I can leave it on if I get a few days of rain. It seems to work fine and puts out a good stream of water although it only has to lift 12-18 in. vertical and 30 in. horizontal. I researched the Attwood and Johnson also before buying the Rule. I elected not to go with a float type as they seemed to have more negative reviews, as did the Attwood. The Johnson would have been my second choice but I liked the more compact Rule and noted the 3 yr warranty.UPDATE: Pump shorted, melted the plastic housing and stopped working 7 months after purchase. I was concerned there was no phone number provided, only an email address, on the instruction/warranty paperwork. I emailed, described the situation and requested a replacement. I received a reply within 5 minutes!!! requesting a copy of the receipt be emailed, faxed or mailed. I complied with the requested copy of the receipt by email. Within 10 minutes an email stated a new pump would be shipped the next day. It arrived 4 days later! I am withholding judgement on this model Rule pump until I see how the replacement holds up but I was certainly impressed with the outstanding customer service!

5Good quality pump
By Jose H. Mariscal
This was for a secondary bilge pump setup. Works well and sealed quickly. Boat didn't sink and nobody died, so that was a bonus.

5For my 2007 Waverunner High Output
By Jon Carlin
I installed this one on my waverunner because the stock 500 GPH automatic was on backorder. I figured it couldn't hurt to have a little bit of extra output, especially since I will intentionally maneuver the pwc so that water splashes over the front (to cool myself off). The circumference is the same as the 500 GPH, so istalllation was no problem. I had to change my fuse from a 3a to a 5a, and so far so good. Oh, this one also has a manual overide positive lead, if you need that. I didn't, so I sealed the end and tie wrapped it off.
